May marks the end of a fantastic and record breaking ski season. We were lucky enough to end the season in Val Thorens with epic spring skiing conditions. Now operations have finished for this year we can look at what the most popular ski resorts were this season. 10. Courchevel

Clinging on to the 10th spot for the 4th year in a row is the swankiest ski resort in the 3 Valleys ski area, Courchevel. With 12 new chalets for winter 2018, including Chalet Darkoum Kalo and Darkoum Lama in Courchevel 1850, it’s been an exciting season in this beautiful part of the Alps. 9. Alpe d’Huez

Alpe d’Huez is an all-round paradise which ticks all the boxes – fantastic ski area, lively apres, huge range of activities and a large town centre. The resort has started a 350 million euros development over the next 5 years including expanding Oisans and an incredible gondola link to Les Deux Alpes. We are expecting Alpe d’Huez to grow hugely in popularity over the next few years. Popular chalets include Chalet Hotel Les Cimes and Chalet Lac Blanc 2.

8. Les Deux Alpes

Les Deux Alpes is consistently popular each season as it is one of the most snow-sure resorts in the Alps and is the perfect destination if you can only travel at the start or end of the season. 7. Meribel

Located at the heart of the largest ski area in the world and easily being one of the prettiest ski resorts in France, there’s no surprise that Meribel is in the top 10 popular resorts. The huge variety of ski runs and sectors in the 3 Valleys gives even the most seasoned skier plenty to explore during their week in the mountains. Recommended chalets include Chalet Oxalys and Chalet Mira Belum.

6. Val Thorens

Discover incredible snow conditions in Europe’s highest ski resort. With skiing up to 3200m and a large range of budget to luxury accommodation Val Thorens is consistently one of the most popular ski resorts for Brits. This season there has been new chalets, hotels, bars, restaurants, ski lifts and après activities in Val Thorens to continue to keep up its reputation of a world-class ski resort. 5. St Anton

St Anton is still the king of Austria with the largest amount of visitors. Although this season the heavyweight has been bumped out the top 3 by the Paradiski massive - La Plagne and Les Arcs. The incredible après scene keeps bringing back thousands of UK skiers and snowboarders each winter. With better links across the resort and a selection of new chalets we expect St Anton to carry on growing in popularity for visitors wanting a change from skiing in France. Recommended chalets include Chalet Janus and Chalet Hotel Rosanna.

4. Les Arcs

As one half of the Paradiski giant, Les Arcs has a huge ski area with plenty of accommodation spread across the 4 villages. This winter there was 3 new chalets added to our programme including Chalet Arnaud, Aiguille Grive Chalets Hotel and Chalet de Cascades. Les Arcs has some exciting new plans over the next few years including replacements of old chairlifts, expansion of snow cannon network and next season the brand new Club Med Les Arcs Panorama will open.

3. La Plagne

La Plagne has grown in popularity significantly in recent years climbing up 5 spots within the top 10 in the last 3 years and now over taking St Anton as the 3rd best-selling resort. With 10 very different villages there are accommodations to suit all – from groups, families, couples and more! La Plagne has a huge offering and an extensive ski area that attracts all kinds of winter sports enthusiasts.

2. Tignes

Tignes was the best-selling ski resort for 3 years in a row and has now been overtaken by it’s neighbour, Val d’Isere. The variety of accommodations and reliable snow conditions makes Tignes an extremely desirable resort for all types of ski groups. Due to the snow-sure slopes we are able to offer ski holidays from the first week of December through til the end of April which means Tignes has one of the longest seasons with available package holidays. Tignes is an Iglu Ski favourite and all-round awesome resort.

1. Val d'Isere

Once again the Espace Killy resorts of Tignes and Val d’Isere take the top spots as the most popular ski resorts in Europe. With a world class ski area, beautiful village and over 80 properties on offer, it’s no surprise Val d’Isere is one of the elite. The resort is enduring a huge transformation: a 16 million euro project on Solaise completed last season; now a 200 million euro, 5 year project has been announced to redevelop the Le Coin village centre and will create many new additions including 2 new hotels, new welcome centre, new shopping space, new underground walkway and more. Top selling chalets include Chalet Champs Avalins and Chalet Hotel de Val d'Isere.
