This weekend the snow gods have returned once again to North America, with some serious early season snow, while Europe continues to build on the recent heavy snowfall, with a light dusting to top-up the slopes.
Canada is leading the way this weekend with some fantastic conditions as the resorts gear up for their grand openings. Whistler, unsurprisingly, is leading the way with 51cm forecast over the next 5 days, including a nice little 17cm of snowfall today alone. Kicking Horse is following on from the early week snow with a decent 46cm expected in the coming days and British Columbia as a whole is expecting good snowfall, with 30cm forecast in Panorama, Silver Star and Fernie.
The US is also benefitting from some fantastic snow this weekend. Colorado is boasting good conditions, with Aspen due 27cm of powder and Crested Butte, Steamboat and Beaver Creek all expecting around 21cm of fresh snow. Up in the Tetons, Jackson Hole can expect another 18cm of snow in the next few days and moving on to Utah, where Park City is forecast a light, 6cm dusting.
Heading back to Europe and Spain's Formigal is leading the way with 10cm of fresh snow set to arrive today, with Finland expecting a 4cm covering across their main resorts. Andorra is getting a light dusting, of around 3-5cm, while Are in Sweden is forecast a small amount of snow.
Hopefully North America will share the love and some of that snow will make its way over to Europe, though we can't really complain as Saas Fee, Zermatt and Cervinia, among others, all benefitted from well over half a metre of snow last weekend.
