Christmas Party Snowfall

Christmas Party Snowfall

Last night was officially the busiest night of the year for Christmas parties and this weekend is one of the snowiest pre-Christmas weekend's we've ever seen. It's pretty much snowed for two weeks now — with a couple of bluebird days for the early skiers to enjoy — and the snow doesn't appear to be letting up anytime soon.

Several resorts are already boasting a 2.5m base on their upper slopes, which is incredible for mid-December, and with a good half metre forecast over the next five days it's only going to get better!

France is currently under a thick blanket of snow, you know it's a good start to the season when there's more snow falling in the Alps than Whistler — and it's been dumping in Whistler! This weekend the forecast is showing around half a metre of fresh powder, if not more. There really isn't a better place to ski right now than France.

Switzerland is in for some pretty gnarly snowfall this weekend, with as much as 60cm falling in some resorts. With the low temperatures and the best pisteurs Europe, the slopes are in perfect condition for anytime of the season, let alone mid-December.

Austria is set for more snow over the weekend. Though it's not anywhere near the awesome pow that France boasts right now, there is a more than respectful amount of fresh snow arriving over the next five days.

Italy is having a mixed bag over the weekend. The Milky Way is set for around 15-20cm of snow over the weekend, while sections of the Dolomites are set for around half a metre of pow wow. Either way, the slopes are looking great and are only getting better.
