Courchevel opens early

Courchevel opens early For one day only, Courchevel is opening its slopes early so keen skiers and snowboarders can enjoy the fresh snow. There has been so much snow in the 3 Valleys resort in the past week that lift operators have decided there is enough to open the lifts early. Courchevel has had 50 cm of snow in the last 7 days and another 40cm is due imminently. Take a look at Courchevel snow report.

From 9:30 until 3 pm on Friday 11th November, skiers and snowboarders can make their first turns of the season, and for free! Enthusiasts can ski for free using the Verdons gondola and the Saulire cable car. Free parking will be available and ski instructors will be on site to offer tips and guidance.

The resort had a similar event last year when they opened on 25th November for one day. The fantastic early season snow conditions has allowed them to do this 2 weeks earlier this season, which is great news for anyone booked on a December ski holiday.

Courchevel will be officially opening on 10th December, together with Meribel. Val Thorens, the highest ski resort in the ski area and France, is due to open earlier on 26th November.
