Early-bird skiers lift off in Meribel

Early-bird skiers lift off in Meribel Skiers in Meribel can now leave first tracks on Olympic slope La Face by joining the first lift of the day.

Meribel Alpina lift company is offering early-birds who sign up for the journey, made at 8:00 local time, the chance to share the lift with the ski patrol.

At the summit, they will be greeted with much-needed refreshments, before gracing the virgin snow with their presence.

Meribel is famed for its advanced ski lift system, which has rendered queues a thing of the past.

The area encompasses three neighbouring villages, all within the Vanoise National Park. Part of the popular Three Valleys ski area, the resort is suitable for all levels and abilities, making it an ideal choice for families. Indeed, Meribel's family pass offers a 20 per cent reduction on six to 21 day passes for four or more people.

The resort's new mountain restaurant, Plan des Mains, will also ensure that off-slope time is as valuable as the more active sections of the day.

The ski lift at 8:00 am local time will be available in Meribel every Thursday during March.
