End-of-season festival in Meribel

End-of-season festival in Meribel Those looking to plan a ski holiday in Meribel for 2008 should consider booking towards the end of the ski season, in order to experience open-air festival fun.

From April 5th - April 20th, The Altitude Festival will take to the slopes of Meribel, bringing with it stand-up comedy performances from English and French speaking comedians as well as music and competitions.

Entertainment is not restricted to the slopes, but will also form part of the apres ski experience that those familiar with Meribel ski holidays will appreciate.

"All this and your days will be spent sliding down some of the most beautiful mountains in the world. Laughter and sliding - the stuff of great postcards," the website of the festival notes.

Meribel is a popular resort for those looking to enjoy family ski holidays, thanks to its selection of beginner, intermediate and advanced ski slopes.

The resort also boasts 2 snowboard areas in addition to 685 snow canons covering 42 per cent of the skiing area, so snow cover should not prove to be a problem even during April, however, the weather should be far less extreme, again making this time of year a hit for those on family ski holidays.
