First New Snowfall for November

First New Snowfall for November

The snow returned to the Alps this weekend after sunny spells made for bluebird glacier skiing across several resorts in Europe last week.

Austria boasted the lion’s share of the powder last night with most resorts recording new snowfall. Kaprun received an impressive 30cm of powder topping up the 85cm base already established this season.

In Switzerland popular resorts Zermatt and Saas Fee posted a respectable 10cm as did Tignes in France where snow was recoded at 2100m in Le Lac for the first time this season.

With cooler temperatures anticipated this week we can expect to see resorts in France, Austria and Switzerland retaining the 55cm of fresh snow forecasted. This would establish impressive early bases of over 100cm in several resorts.

Our first ski departures are just 5 weeks away so stay tuned for all the latest snowfall and resort news as we count down to the start of the winter fun!
