New four-star hotel opens in Tignes

New four-star hotel opens in Tignes A new four-star hotel has opened its doors in Tignes, news which may be of interest to those thinking about booking a ski holiday in the area.

Opened by MGM, Les Suites du Nevada comprises 24 luxury bedrooms constructed from local stone, wood and river-bed slate.

Each suite also comes with a range of hi-tech features flat-screen LCD TVs, whirlpool baths and rain-curtain showers.

In a statement, the company said Tignes had suffered from a lack of four-stay hotel-style serviced accomodation for some time.

"Careful consideration of the views in Tignes enabled us to identify a vital factor preventing the village from realising its full potential as a ski destination of the highest order," it added.

In related news, the third competition of the Freeride World Tour takes place in Tignes this month between March 8th and 14th.
