This season the snow has just kept on giving, almost every week it has snowed — sometimes it has dumped, other times it has topped the mountain up accompanied by some sunshine — and March looks to continue the trend.
This weekend sees a mixture of snow and sunshine as we enter March and spring approaches. The forecast in France and Italy ranges from 40cm to 5cm, while Austria is set for a bluebird week and Canada — especially British Columbia — is going to boast some serious powder!
France is having an incredible season for snow and this week has a mixture of snow and sunshine — which is what March is all about. Isola 2000m, one of the hidden gems of the French Alps, is boasting close to half a metre of snow this weekend, with the usual suspects forecast around 10cm.

Italy is set for some good snow over the weekend. The Milky Way, or Via Lattea, is expecting up to 20cm in most resorts, while the little known resort of Prato Nevoso will be a powder hound's dream with 38cm of fresh snow, and a quiet mountain to enjoy it.

Switzerland is set for another dusting over the weekend, with up to 10cm on its way and lots of sunshine to make for perfect conditions.

March is the best time to hit the slopes, there has been half a season of snow to create a good base, the sun comes out, the days are longer and it keeps snowing — often at night — making for perfect conditions. The only question is, where to go!
