Snow Report | 07 Nov 2016

Snow Report | 07 Nov 2016 Huge snowfalls were predicted over the weekend and the snow gods have delivered!

There have been several light snowfalls in October with the most significant on 12th October, yet this weekend’s snow has been the first large dump of snow that has fallen down to resort level and lower ski areas.

Hintertux glacier near Mayrhofen boasted 60 cm of fresh snowfall on Sunday for excellent powder conditions for the early season skiers and snowboarders that are already taking advantage of the open ski lifts.

Snow depths on the top slopes in some resorts are looking extremely good for this time of year. Top levels reported included 135cm at Saas Fee, 95 cm at Cervinia, 60 cm at Kitzbuhel, 60 cm at Zermatt and 50 cm at Tignes.

More snow is on the way too! Total snowfall forecast over the next 5 days is:

St Anton, Austria – 84 cm
Les Arcs, France – 83 cm
Alpe d’Huez, France – 62 cm
Tignes, France – 57 cm
La Plagne, France – 56 cm
Meribel, France – 56 cm
Val d’Isere, France – 53cm
Val Thorens, France – 51 cm
