Snow Report | 22 Apr 2014

Snow Report | 22 Apr 2014 The season is slowly drawing to a close, but the snow just keeps on coming!  There have been excellent conditions throughout Europe over the past week and there’s further good news – it looks set to continue for a little while longer.

Great conditions are forecast across Austria over the next 9 days, with Ischgl expecting to see 21cm of snowfall, St Anton 20cm and Hintertux 32cm (adding to its already excellent upper piste depth of 400cm).  Neustift currently reports an upper piste depth of 365cm after a 12cm snowfall this weekend.  It is forecast a further 23cm over the next 9 days.  Obergurgl has seen 26cm of fresh powder over the past week and is forecast a further 26cm.

It has been snowing lots over the past few days in France and there’s even more to come.  In the next 9 days there will be 41cm of fresh snow in Chamonix, 40cm in Les Arcs, 32cm in Les Deux Alpes, 52cm in Tignes, 63cm in Val d’Isere and 38cm in Val Thorens.

Italy’s conditions are also looking good with 53cm of snow forecast in Cortina 53cm over the next 9 days.  Gressoney is set to see 57cm, Livigno 25cm and Passo Tonale 26cm (which will add to the 600cm upper piste depth nicely!).

Over in Switzerland there’s also plenty of snow, with Zermatt forecast 83cm, Saas Fee 80cm and Verbier 49cm in the next 9 days.  There is still some great snow cover across the higher altitude resorts, with Zermatt boasting 255cm, Saas Fee 402cm, Andermatt 400cm and Engelberg 355cm.

Happy skiing everyone and also, Happy Earth Day!
