Ticket to Ride snowboard events heads to Switzerland

Ticket to Ride snowboard events heads to Switzerland A Swiss glacier village is set to play host to one of the last dates on the Ticket to Ride Snowboard World Tour.

Ski holidays in Saas-Fee will be enlivened by the Popcorn Wallride contest and the Snickers Classic event and is expecting to welcome pros from the world of snowboarding, including Jonas Emery and Tonton Holland.

Calling an end to the Ticket to Ride Snowboard World Tour at the resort will be the Wallride contest, which sees boarders take on an eight-metre wall, reports First Tracks.

However, the final event will not present the winner with points in the ranking tables but will instead see the victor receive a mystery prize.

Off-piste there's plenty of distractions too with guitarist Scott Sullivan planning a set at the Living Room Bar alongside local punk band AF and several top DJs.

The Ticket to Ride Snowboard World Tour enables amateur snowboarders to compete against their professional idols and the Snicker Classic race will see 12 entrants making it through to the grand final.

Known as the pearl of the Alps, Saas-Fee provides holidaymakers with the chance to ski and snowboard at altitudes up to 3,600 metres.

One of the smaller resorts in Switzerland, a ski holiday in Saas-Fee will nevertheless be perfectly formed.
