What’s new in Val Thorens for winter 2017

What’s new in Val Thorens for winter 2017 The snow-sure gem of the 3 Valleys ski area has lots of exciting new additions for winter 2017. Val Thorens boasts the longest ski season in Europe as it is consistently the first to open and last to close. On average, snow covers the mountains from late November until early May and for this season Val Thorens aims to open its slopes from the 27th November.

New hotel


Fahrenheit 7
is a new 4 star hotel located at the foot of the slopes. There are multiple dining venues and bars including the terrace, Rotisserie and Le Zinc restaurants, plus 2 bars! The hotel boasts stunning mountain views and is now available to book.

Aurelie’s Tea Room
 
This foodie lounge is half gallery and half gourmet café where skiers that are looking for more of a ‘zen’ atmosphere can relax over a green tea or freshly made bowl of soup on a cosy sofa. Yoga classes will be ran in the mornings and the tea room comes to live at après with champagne and finger food available.

Le Crewzer
With beers from around the world and a range of juicy burgers on the menu, this space will be popular with riders at après. Ran by 2 local snowboarders, the bar will broadcast a range of extreme sports and exhibit sports photography.

Le Zinc Bar
Located in the new Fahernheit 7 hotel, Le Zinc is a wine bistro offering light meals. Perfect for food and wine fans, there are over 150 quality wines on the menu and speciality cheese and meat platters to share. Le Zinc will also have a live band 3 times a week.

Ice Climbing
With expert coaching, climb up Val Thorens' frozen waterfall! Get introduced to the amazing world of mountain sports this winter. A 2 hour activity costs 120 Euros. 

Formula 1 simulators at Driv’inn club

Located in the Caron gallery, a new area has been created for fans of car racing. There are 3 high tech simulators where a network of players can compete against each other. This is available for private hire for special occasions.

Home style cookery lessons
Learn to cook Aveyron style specialities at La Maison brasserie by the restaurant owners and Michelin stared Chef Cyril Attrazic.




New ski lifts


Val Thorens has invested 14 million Euros to upgrade and expand the ski area so skiers and snowboarders can get the most out of the resort. Including 2 new lifts, new modules in the Funslope and new ski touring routes.

Ski Flux is a new project that will allow Val Thorens to measure the number of skiers on the slopes at all times and guide them towards different runs via information screens so visitors can enjoy the best skiing available.
