Whistler: 'the best place to ski in North America'

Whistler: 'the best place to ski in North America' Discerning skiers would do well to book their 2007-08 ski holidays in Whistler after the resort was voted number one for ski holidays in North America by readers of Conde Nast Traveler magazine.

The ski resort was awarded the top spot in the publication's annual Best Places to Ski & Stay in North America reader survey.

Out of 109 North American ski resorts, ski holidays in Whistler were viewed to offer travellers the best in terms of terrain and conditions, lifts and queuing, dining and apres-ski and overall town ambience.

Arlene Schieven, Vice-President of Marketing for Tourism Whistler, noted that the accolade was an "incredible boost" for the resort.

"The combination of consistently fantastic snow conditions, unbelievable range of ski terrain and on- and off-mountain activities, fine hotels, dining and shopping ... makes Whistler hard to ignore amongst the top-ranked ski resorts of the world," she added.

In other North America ski holiday news, areas of Vail opened for the 2007-08 ski season last weekend.
