We spent last week at Chalet Elfie. Food and staff were great. Standard of cleaning in Chalet could have been better though.

Overall

The holiday was for week commencing 27th March 2011. With regards to the Chalet, the staff were brilliant. The food was more than acceptable, with no two nights having the same content. Each night we were given a 3 course meal and each morning there was both a continental style breakfast, traditional cereals and a hot option. Cake was available from 4pm and there was canapes at 7.30pm. The rooms were really appartments rather than your traditional en-suite bedroom, so loads of room to spread out your ski gear. With regards to the resort, the town was very pleasant and the prices in the bars were not as expensive as France. Don't expect to buy new ski wear in the shops as those prices were very expensive, even in the sale. The snow, when we were there, was disappearing fast. However the slopes were always well groomed in the mornings. My only reservation about the resort was that the ski areas are a little disjointed and required using the bus service to get about.

Overall

Highly recommended chalet perfect for groups. We were a party of 8 and had a large room for 2 people. The decoration and facilities are a bit ancient, but that wasn't really an issue. The TV room is brilliant for chilling, playing games if you're not heading out. Food was average, breakfast was good but evening meals were needlessly complicated. Classic dishes would be much better. The bus stop outside the chalet was very useful in the morning, and also being able to store ski's/boots by the ski lift made life easy. Overall I would recommend the chalet, its good value and you get what you pay for. The resort itself is awesome.
