Hotel Harfenwirt Reviews

This was our fifth year at the Harfenwirt, the Hotel is very friendly, all the staff make you more than welcome. The new wing of the Hotel is out of this world, the new swimming pool, sauna and steam room is great after a long day skiing. The meals in the hotel are lovely, a great choice for all. We will be back again in Feb 2010. Hertbert values his guests by playing his harp in the bar on your last night; I would love him to play more than one night as his entertainment is out of this world. Thanks again Herbert and Gill for another great skiing holiday.

small but excellent resort. Snow conditions excellent with pistes well maintained and easy bus service to other nearby resorts. Hotel Harfenwirt was good 3* + standard. Rooms comfortable. Herbert the owner placed guests in the dining room to encourage conversation during meals. we were with two other couples of similar age and expectations and this added to the holiday. Claire our rep was very good, always available to contact and often to be seen in the resort both on and off piste and always ready to advise where to go, what to do etc An exceptional service and resort all round

Although it was close to the end of the season there was still plenty of snow in the resort and the runs and pistes were well groomed. The hotel staff as always were very keen to see that all our needs were catered for, the food was plentiful and tasteful. The rooms were well maintained and clean, no complaints. Brilliant last minute holiday thanks to Herbert. Apre ski a bit sparse as a lot of places had closed for the season but what was open gave good service.

Over all loved skiing here , with access too over 100kms of piste for all levels . Having the bus service is a real bonus and opens up the entire region. Niederau itself is pleasant enough too stay in and the people are fairly friendly . The accommodation however is a different story . Hotel Harfenwirt was disappointing, apart from having to wait the best part of 4hrs to get into our room , once in it was basic at best , no tea/coffee making facilities, warm water from the cold tap , mould , dust , cracked tiles , frayed towels , shower panel cracked from top to bottom and stuck together with tape , no English TV as such apart from news , poor WiFi and I'm pretty certain the sheets weren't changed the whole week , (Blackpool B&B at best) if you are just looking for somewhere to crash after a hard days skiing its fine but if you want more then no .
