Hotel Himalaia-Soldeu Reviews

We stayed at Himalai in Soldeu. A reasonable hotel right in the centre and a few minutes walk from the gondola. We had a Roth floor room, with a Velux window and a great view of the world cup run. It was pleasant but at night the noise from the bar's and clubs below kept us awake...take ear plugs. The staff are lovely. The bar area and sitting area are good. We were there over half term so it was full of young families and children. The restaurant is functional and the food ok. It isn't somewhere quiet to sit and linger over a meal. Grandvalara is great for skiing. The weather was perfect, blue skies and hot! In February....very unusual. We are intermediate skiers and know the area and runs well, so did not have lessons this time. Being first out in the morning was perfect and later on the queues were not too bad. El tarter seemed much busier than Soldeu. Loved the whole week....apart from lack of sleep. But don't too many people go!

We loved our stay at the Himalaya. Centrally positioned, it's near the gondola and all the bars and supermarket. The staff are all very friendly. The food is fantastic. And the magician was incredible!!!

My partner and i booked our ski holiday to Andorra through iglu ski, they were very efficient and friendly and was all booked very quickly with no hassel. This was my 4th time to andorra and 3rd time staying at the Himalaia hotel, the first time i stayed at the himalaia was back in 2003 and was very pleased with the standards and the services that the hotel provided, however i was a little dissapointed when i arrived at the hotel in feb 2011 as i found that nothing had been changed or updated, the paintwork and wallpaper needed touching up as was starting to like a bit tired, and our tiles in the bathroom were very loose. The food choice was very good at dinner but at breakfast the beans and eggs were always cold, also this year they decided to charge for the use of the jacuzzi's and sauna, it wasnt much but we expected that in the price when we booked, (PLEASE NOTE if you are staying at this hotel then dont bother telling them that you want to use those facilities just go straight down to level one and use them, no one checks, saves you paying everytime you wanna use them.) Overall i didnt let this spoil my holiday as soldeu is a fantastic resort for skiing/snowboarding, and as we were on the slopes all day then out enjoyin the apres ski after, we didnt spend much time at hotel.
