Home From Home - 13/03/2019
Overall

When you stay away from home it is always so comforting to feel still 'at home'. And that was how we felt when we stayed at the Victoria: charming ambience and with a sense of history about the place. The photos were so interesting as were the artefacts on display. The staff were very well trained. Very obliging . Very discreet. The service , sterling-with-a-smile. The food was well cooked, hot , tasty and lots of it. The wine generously delivered. The hotel was warm throughout. The beds very comfortable. Our bedroom of a good size , with ours having a bath as well as a shower and...bidet. Plus lots of storage space for clothes etc. The location could not have been better. So Thank You Team Chalet Hotel Parc Victoria. Wishing you a Happy Time For The Rest of Your 2019 season in Cortina.

A Wonderful Week In The Beautiful Dolomites - 20/02/2019
Overall

We booked through Iglu Ski one week before our departure on 9th February 2019. After a very long transfer from Innsbruck (so wished we’d flown into Venice!), we were greeted by Marcos the great hotel manager and we were soon checked in. Although we were not allocated the room that we paid for (note to self: thoroughly check all paperwork before arrival as it seems it can unexpectedly change when adding extras later!!) everything worked out OK as we swapped with another family in the same situation. The hotel was clean and warm throughout, with ample seating in the bar area. The beds and pillows were comfortable and the jacuzzi bath in our room was very welcomed after a hard day on the slopes. The hotel’s central location was great for an evening stroll and window shopping. The chalet staff day off was Wednesday and there were lots of good restaurants to choose from close by. The entire Inghams team were absolutely fabulous all week and worked so hard to please all guests and that must get harder each season with the number of individual dietary requirements. Having read other reviews, our concerns about the food were totally unnecessary. THE FOOD WAS BRILLIANT from full English breakfasts, to tasty cakes, soups and fresh fruit at afternoon teas all the way a variety of Italian style dishes at dinner. In fact, I’d go so far as to say it was the best food in an Inghams chalet that we have every experienced – good food is such an important part of a skiing holiday so very well done to the new chef and kitchen team for reacting to the recent reviews!! The main ski areas of Cortina are linked by various free ski buses which stop just across the street from the hotel. As the hotel shuttle bus was out of service, we favoured bus number 8 as the walk to the Tofana gondola was so much easier than to the first lift at Socrepes and the two area are linked by runs. One morning we skied the Super8, including the hidden valley, using lifts and the free ski busses. With a bit of planning a reasonable skier can also spend a decent amount of time around Alta Badia after the sleigh ride at the bottom in the hidden valley but our attempt to ski to and around the Sella Ronda was probably too ambitious to be relaxed enough .... so the Inghams away-day or the early bus from the bus station to one of the closer resorts would probably have been the better option. In conclusion, we had an absolutely amazing week with lovely snow conditions, blue bird days, quiet corduroy slopes and we also met some very nice people. If we ever return to Cortina we would have no hesitation in staying at the Parc Victoria again. Thank you Marcos, Jack and the entire team.

Hotel with Plenty of character - 18/02/2019
Overall

The hotel is quite old but has clearly been part modernised over the years. The lift broke down a couple of times during the week and the Steam Room hasn't worked for a long while and unlikely to be fixed any time soon. The hotel is operated by Inghams and Ski Total. Staff are friendly although not very knowledgeable as all new to resort the week before we arrived. Food in the hotel was excellent starting with the full cooked breakfast in the morning to afternoon tea & soup at tea time then three course evening meal in the evening with quality wine. You should not be disappointed. Main downside is that there is no door to door skiing and you need to get a bus everywhere which run every 15 minutes. This is also not the place for apres-skiing entertainment. Main high street is a few minutes walk away and good selection of restaurants near bye with excellent pizza restaurant opposite

Excellent hotel to explore Cortina - 11/01/2017
Overall

We visited this hotel as a family of 5 over the 2016 Christmas period and had a wonderful holiday. The hotel staff were excellent and since our family was aged between 19-23 they all made great friends with the staff who were of similar ages, this kept them entertained ( several 3 am home comings, after visits to local night clubs and bars) The Hotel is very Old School and rustic bedrooms , that gave it a lovely charm. Food was very good each eveing and portions generous. You will be offered an aperitif each evening and wine included in your package if you travel with Igluski/Inghams who run the chalet hotel. We weren't blessed with snow, however the Cortina Snow blowers allowed us to ski from top to bottom of the mountain with excellent piste. We would definately return to this hotel and Cortina , so a big thumbs up ....Quaint hotel / luxury resort. Ask for a room with balcony as the views are lovely. Free 8 seater hotel bus is great, as is public transport that runs from just accross road.

Group ski trip to Cortina - 06/04/2014
Overall

10 of us went to Cortina & none of us had been before. We had a fantastic time & would go back. The resort was beautiful & plenty of skiing for the mixed group. It was great to be in an authentic resort too. The Chalet Hotel Parc Victoria was superb value & lived up to its 4-star status. Although it's not ski-in/ski-out it didn't seem to matter as there was never a queue for the buses & the hotel runs a mini-bus service. We skied late in the season (end of March) so we were grateful for the late snow conditions. Don't go if you're after a lively apres resort as it's far more classy than that. Check out the Champagne Bar at the Col Druscie restaurant! Overall, we can't believe the incredible deal we saw on Travelzoo & booked with Iglu.
