Resort - Brilliant. Pretty village, cheap food and drink. Only one board-specific shop but it was good - 360. Conditions - Outstanding. Some of best snow & powder we've ever had. Slopes - Great. Lots of tree runs, big area if you made the effort to travel but a lot of the best runs were near Sauze anyway. Hotel - Decent. Good sized rooms, modern en suite bathroom. Very close to lifts - 1-2 mins walk. Food - Decent. Not the best we've had in Italy but still way better than you get in Austria etc.

Snow conditions excellent - 12/04/2013
Overall

Late season holiday and snow conditions were good. Snowed while we were there, so good skiing on well-pisted runs. Resort quiet and friendly and the ski reps were efficient and informative. Some long button tows, which could prove difficult for inexperienced skiers and the runs were mostly red, some black, so not a place for beginners, I would say. Hotel was pleasant, staff accommodating and the food was really good.

Sauze Ski Trip March 2014 - 01/04/2014
Overall

Flight from Manchester good, breakfast onboard. Turin airport reasonably efficient, reps on hand and helpful. Short coach transfer to resort. Taxing walk up the hill to hotel from coach drop off point, arrived around noon. Hotel not ready for us until 13.30 so dropped bags off and went to hire shop and for walk around town. Welcome meeting informative and helpful. Arranged private lessons with friendly local school Ski Instructor 'Davide'. Hotel ideally located for Clotes lift, ski hire shop, mini supermarket and town centre. Hotel staff very friendly. Accommodation very basic but efficient, retro 70s style. Food in hotel plentiful but sometimes a bit plain for evening meal. Breakfast was basic DIY buffet. Fresh cappuccino's made by friendly waitress excellent. Very friendly helpful young English barman. Location possibly a bit noisy late at night if you are a light sleeper or sleep with windows open like us. Neilson welcome meeting informative and helpful. Arranged private lessons with friendly local school Ski Instructor 'Davide'. Ski runs and snow conditions throughout week were excellent, 2 days of spring skiing, two days of partial whiteout and brilliant powder, last two days fabulous sun and great snow. Sauze very good, Sansicario also v good, Sestriere busy - advanced skiers must do the drag lift up to the top of the Olympic black. 3 days of private Ski lessons excellent and with very good communication, in English - well worth it. Only concern is the chair lifts and attendants nowhere near as efficient or safety conscious as in Austria or even France - watch those beginners and children! Mountain huts and restaurants all very good quality food, good value and friendly staff. Apres ski in town pubs and bars friendly and lively. Good restaurants especially spaghetti house in old town area. All in all great week enjoyed by me and my partner. Would definitely do it again.

Good for the price - 27/01/2015
Overall

The hotel is well placed being very close to the main lift, Only a 200mtr walk uphill. There are good bars for après close by. The rooms are clean warm and well provided, the beds are a bit hard but we got used to them. The sound tends to travel into your room from the corridor as it is a tiled floor, but the management try to keep late night noise down. The food is very good and well served by the hard working Staff, lots of good wines are available and the hotel has a well stocked quaint bar. Don't expect the Ritz but this is a great hotel for the price and all the staff are welcoming and friendly . Tip the lift only goes to the second floor so if you don't want another flight to climb go for the lower floors. Boot room is on the ground floor and handy for a quick getaway.

First time in Sauze d'Oulx - 24/02/2015
Overall

Fresh snow on arrival made for excellent conditions for the week. Although the hotel was conveniently situated for the lifts and everything was very clean, the hotel itself was rather tired, the food fairly basic and failed to accommodate one vegetarian in the party with any imagination or variety.
