3rd time in this hotel and 6th time to resort. Great location, Austrian in style and decor but perfectly functional and good choice of food. As with all hotels along the "strip" there is noise at night from apres party goers so a room to the rear is better.

Excellent central location, small public area and reception, small bar badly stocked and in need of a complete revamp.Bedrooms clean and well equipped,dining room facilities spread out and difficult for the staff to manage, breakfasts good, evening meal variable, not the best quality food. Boot room small but seemed to work, although one member of the group had hire skis taken from the room and not returned.

After spending a long while on the phone confirming exactly what rooms were required for our group, I was very annoyed to find when this was booked with the hotel all the information I had provided was disregarded. Not only were the room allocations not as booked and discussed but they were not even in line with common sense as we had a married couple who had been put in double rooms with other people! This took some time and disagreement to resolve with the hotel staff. Iglu were the agent and I could not fault the staff when we were away as I unfortunately injured myself on holiday and the staff were very helpful.

Dated but friendly. Breakfast starts at 8am, as the hotel is full of skiers wanting to hit the slopes there are bottle-necks for the two coffee machines and also trying to get around the limited space allocated for the buffet breakfast. Having said that the breakfast was good with hit and cold options with various breads and pastries. We had three rooms, two in the annex got good reviews, three of us were in a triple, room 208, which was not good. The shower had no power, just a dribble. We reported to hotel reception but nothing improved. The bedroom window overlooked some sort of delivery or service yard. It was very noisy from 6am. Also the church bells are very very loud in this room. We turned the radiators off and left the window open as it was so hot ( in February). The Neilson brochure shows a nice galleried dinning area, however we were in another dinning area tucked away, NOT what we were expecting from the brochure/website photos, very misleading. I don't usually bother with writing reviews but felt this needed to be noted!!! More positive notes. Good boot/ski room. Dinners were generally nice. Bar staff and bars were nice. Great central location, but anywhere in Saalbach is not far away.

Your staff were great and I have no complaints about anything except the hotel. I explained when I booked that it was my husbands 60th birthday and I wanted it to be special. I asked for a nice room. If this wasn't possible I should have been told. The 3 rd room that we got was better than the others but so small that we could hardly turn round. I was more than willing to upgrade but nothing available until day 3. No storage shelves at all for clothes. Bathroom tiny, one person at a time. The whole hotel was very shabby and tired. I wouldn't have booked the hotel had I realised any of this. Maybe I'm out of touch with prices. I would happily have paid a lot more, but when I made the initial booking I was under the impression that this was a nice hotel. On the positive side the food was nice and the spa staff excellent. I am not faulting the staff generally. I was just very disappointed with the room and the decor. I doubt I would book again with a company whose staff are not able to advise ta customer who is very specific about a special occasion and wanting everything to be memorable.
