For a different kind of ski trip - 18/02/2020
Overall

We go skiing every year as a party of "seniors" and this was out first trip outside the Alps. We were looking for somewhere where the skiing was easier and where there was something else to keep us busy on rest days (which we find necessary!) Levi fits the bill perfectly - the skiing is easy and very accessible, but won't suit the purist looking for a challenge. Snow is excellent - all powder and no slush as you'd expect 200 km north of the Arctic circle. The downside is that daylight is short - although to compensate the dawn and twilight last a long time, and all the main slopes at Levi are brilliantly floodlit. If you want to try something different, Levi has some of the best cross-country skiing in Europe, and most of the tracks are also floodlit. For families or groups that include non-skiiers, there is also dog sledding, reindeer sledding, snowmobile hire, e-biking along cross country tracks and excellent winter walking trails. Be prepared for arctic weather (it got down to minus 21 C on one day) and you'll be fine. We stayed at the Levi Spa Hotel; accommodation was roomy, comfortable and clean with lashings of hot water and excellent food; we stayed half board and there was more than you could eat available for both breakfast and supper. The package included free use of the Spa facilities -pool, sauna etc. - which justified what might have otherwise seemed a bit pricey. The only drawback to this hotel is that bedrooms are in different blocks to the dining, bar and spa areas, but we didn't find that a major issue. The hotel is also within easy walking distance of the town which has a good range of shops, restaurants and bars, although it might not suit those whose idea of apres ski is all-night partying. As a bonus, you might get a chance to see the northern lights - we saw the best display they'd had in Finland for 20 years, but we were told repeatedly how lucky we were!

Disappointed Levi Hotel Spa - 19/03/2019
Overall

I was very disappointed to find out that the hotel was not 4/3.5 star as advertised. The hotel was outdated, rooms were not cleaned every day, the reception area did not have any facilities and was allocated right next to the Berger King Restaurant ! The swimming and saunas are not cleaned. We requested 2 separate beds, explained that we are friends not a couple and were given a double bed! We raised our concerns with Ingham reps and have not received any feedback at all. Very disappointed.

Levi skiing experience - 20/02/2019
Overall

Hotel Levi Spa - Accommodation, clean but very basic. Broken shower tube, broken ironing board, broken fridge. Restaurant - excellent quality, good choice, great variety. Included cold soft drinks were either water, diluted orange juice or a home made non alcoholic ale. (alcoholic drinks were available to purchase) Hotel additional facilities - swimming pool, games rooms, gym all five stars Support staff - reception excellent, top marks for customer focus, nothing was too much trouble. Overall, I would certainly recommend this hotel. The ski resort of Levi seemed to be challenged this week with almost half of the ski runs closed. The ski lifts in the "South Park" were only operated on half of the days while we were there. Nevertheless, the slope support staff were very attentive and safety conscious for the skiers. We had a child who slipped on a slope and hurt her knee. The rescue team were on scene within 2 minutes and the snow mobile ambulance was there within 2 minutes of being called. They assessed the situation and radioed for the emergency paramedics to attend high up on the slope. They strapped the girl onto their snow mobile sleigh and brought her down the mountain safely but at speed directly to the doctors surgery. The local doctors and nurses attended their surgery late on a Sunday and performed x-rays, crutches, pain killers and a leg brace and only charged us 850 Euros for the privilege. The girl made a miraculous and complete recovery in 1 day!

my sister and I went here for four nights, the food was good, plenty of choice but no variation each day. The pools and saunas were excellent, we booked excursions from the hotel which were cheaper than pre-booking. We would return

My wife and I stayed at the Leviventura last Easter, essentially as a bit of a change and with virtually guaranteed good snow. We loved the resort and the skiing was really excellent, provided you are there for a relaxed intermediate easy going holiday. Excursions were real fun too. It is very down to earth. Everything is also well set up for families. The hotel also very nice indeed, however, the food was nothing to shout about but good. If you fancy a tipple then buy it in the supermarket, as it can be cheaper.
