The skiing here is great. I did miss tree lined runs, but you cannot have everything. The pistes are wide and well groomed. I had some great skiing. I also do not think the resort was the eyesore that people claim. Although purpose built, it was clean, tidy and neat like everything else in France. The après scene here is quieter compared to its neighbor Val d'Isere, but you can still find lively bars and clubs.

My First Trip - 26/11/2012
Overall

Tignes for me was the perfect place to learn to ski. Friendly staff in the morning lessons and plenty of challenging runs for dare devils like myself to explore in the afternoon with friends. Stayed in a large basic hotel, but didn't mind as I was there for the snow and the nightlife. Tignes did not let me down when the sun set - usually ending up at the Melting Pot. Le lac and Le Lavachet have some beautiful chalets, so definitely worth checking them out. What is even better is you can get an area pass over to Val D'Isere! Amazing holiday.

Great time in Tignes - 15/12/2014
Overall

I recently spent a week in Val Claret, the highest resort in the Tignes villages. Situated in the peaks of the Espace Killy with quick access to the glacier ski area and a wide range of runs from gentle rides to off peak thrills. The village centre has a nice choice of shops, eateries and bars. The village is purpose built and lacking in village charm but its location location location at the on top of the mountain and above the tree line makes up for its aesthetic beauty. Plenty of action both on and off the slopes. As darkness draws in, the doors of Saloon, 24/7 and Blue Girl spin to provide fun and the odd European surprise to charge the party ;)

Very impressed by the central location of this hotel. Ski hire/ski school/bars/restaurants are all within a few meters of the chalet. The views of the mountains from my balcony looked like a high definition photo printed right in front of you, absolutely stunning. Sitting out on the balcony with a hot coffee every morning became a habit which are moments i will truly miss. Staff were always on hand to help and the food was good. Great value for money, will be booking Chalet Hotel Curling again.

The best ski resort for snowboarders - 13/03/2019
Overall

Tignes is easily my favourite ski resort. It’s not the prettiest but the quality of the ski area, après, restaurants, accommodation and nightlife, it cannot be beaten! As a snowboarder, the ski area is perfect. There are minimal flats, a huge selection of blues and red runs, amazing snow conditions and a huge variety of terrain. For the best après on the mountain it’s got to be Folie Douce, then once you are back in town head to the Loop Bar in Le Lac or the new Coco Rico’s in Val Claret.
