Chalet-Hotel Tannenburg - Bad Gastein, Austria
You'll be hard pushed to find a more relaxing Chalet-hotel than the Tannenburg. Positioned five minutes from the town's main gondolas and chairlifts, it provides. Our guests with luxurious rooms and a laid back atmosphere. After an invigorating day's ski guiding, it's the ideal environment in which to wind down.
Downstairs, the cosy lounge area complete with wood stove and views of the snow capped mountains is a wonderful place to stretch out with a book at the end of the day. By luck, it's located next door to our traditional Austrian bar, a popular corner of the hotel with a warm mood and frothy Austrian lager on tap, just don't drink too many if you want to play "Nails", a local game where steel nails are banged into an upturned log with the thin end of a hammer, after a few pints it can get a little tricky.

The chalet host will have a day off during the course of the week, during which you will be required to eat out.
The food at the Tannenburg is top drawer too. A buffet breakfast of eggs, cereals, local breads and freshly brewed coffee should be enough to prepare you for the days skiing; tea and homemade cakes at four o'clock puts an end to the mountain munchies- enjoy canopes in the bar before dinner, a great time to compare the day's adventures with your fellow guests, followed by a three course meal with cheese and complimentary wine.
