Hotel Alpin Juwel, Hinterglemm, Austria

A relatively new hotel, belongs to the Wolf family who have had a presence in Hinterglemm for many years. A fine hotel, rooms are modern, clean and spacious compared to some of the ski resorts we have stayed in. The staff are helpful and friendly, the food is excellent and there are 6 courses per night at the eveneing meal. We liked the boot room with it's individual locker storage for each room - makes it very safe to leave your gear there. It's not what I would call a ski-in/ski-out hotel as the piste ends a short walk away on one side of the hotel. The main Gondola is the ReiterkogelBahn which is a walk away - it's not too far though so don't let that put you off. However in other hotels we've stayed in you can literally ski up to the rear entrance and the gondola is almost part of the hotel - not true with the Alpine Juwel unfortunately. The wellness centre is very nice after a day of skiing. I'd stay there again, it was a very pleasant experience.
