Overall

The flight was diverted to Friedrichshafen as not able to land in Innsbruck. No cummunication, so we had to pay for a taxi which was not cheap. No communication on bus transfer. Chalet Janus has been built to a high specification. The location is good, convenient to the Nasserein Gondola and about a 10 minute walk to town. The Chalet host Louise was very friendly and provided good food each evening. The rep Alex visited each day and it was good to be able to purchase lift passes and ski hire from her to avoid some of the queues in town. The resort is good, probably better for more advanced skiers, Lech is better for beginners or intermediates. Whilst the chalet was well built, it lacked in the detail needed to make it exceptional. Keys are provided, but you have to pay 60 euros if lost. 2 had been lost prior to our visit and not replaced. The rooms are basic, no shower gel or shampoo. One plastic cup to last all week. No hairdryers in the room, so take your own! Beds comfortable, but only one cushion type pillow. We had to ask for more. Not enough hangers, we had about 4. There were not enough glasses for water, so we were asked to use mugs for water. The light bulb above the dining table had blown along with the one in the well being area, the handle on the sauna was also broken. This was reported, but no provision was made to bring more glasses or replace the bulbs. The television is good, but only Austrian/ German programs, take a DVD as there is a player there. The well being area requires the spa bath to be filled each day - this takes 45 minutes, a suggestion would be for chalet hosts to set this going if they know the time guests are back. We had to ask for additional towels for the well being area and there were no robes or slippers available to use in the area. Wifi is terrible. There are 9 options to log in and requires users to log in every time, this definitely needs to improve. Chalet day off is literally as it states, and there is no service even from another source. Wine was good, breakfasts ok, nice canapes and evening meals. On a good note, we were with a good crowd, so the holiday was good and we had fun. Bus was late picking up and there was not a lot of confidence in staff as again no communication on when it would arrive. A little more attention to detail and this chalet will be exceptional.
