Best Chalet Hosts Ever - 04/01/2015
Overall

The Chalet Le Lac Blanc 1 is in the ideal location right on the snow (even during the week of the 20 -27 Dec), in fact the resort had the second most snow in the Alps. With a glacier at 3300 mtrs snow was good. The chalet was warm and friendly, with a ski boot warmer outside the main apartment door, so cosy boots in the morning. The 3 chalet hosts Joe, Philippa and Gema were outstanding, I have nothing but the highest praise for them. Excellent cooks, the christmas dinner was superb as was the cakes and cookies left out for after skiing. My only complaint is that some of the rooms are small, whilst some are huge. But all in all excellent value. We will definitely be going back

A warm March break - 11/04/2011
Overall

We stayed at the Chalet Le Lac Blanc at the end of March 2011. The chalet itself was well run by the host, Lucy, and was good value for money — especially with the 2 for 1 ski pass deal. For being on the slopes the location was second to none. Literally ski into the front door. The rooms were cramped, we had the smallest at the top of the chalet, I suppose luck of the draw. The skiing itself was limited, due to the warm weather, the snow — 30cm fell while we were there — was disappearing very quickly and despite the height of Alpe D'Huez many of the lower pistes were closed or closing. The glacier had the best skiing but unless you fancied the challenging "Tunnel" route down, the alternative was to cable car down. The resort is probably best up until start of March. We spent one day in Les Deux Alpes which had much better conditions and better lift infrastructure.

Apres Ski: 2/5
