If being near the slopes is top of your priority list, you'll love this hotel. It's in the same building as the Prestige Résidence L'Éclose, right next to the Marmottes 1 chairlift, which makes getting onto the mountain every day easy-peasy. The centre of town is a little further away, but you can hop on the local buses for free with your lift pass that'll get you there in no time. And it's a 15-minute walk to Childcare clubs at the Hotel Les Bergers.
Inside, the décor's alpine with an industrial twist. Open fireplaces and comfy seating areas give it a cosy, mountain feel, contrasting with concrete walls and sleek tiles which give the place a sophisticated feel. And big, floor-to-ceiling windows in the lobby let in plenty of light and a top view of the slopes, so it's the perfect spot to enjoy an après-ski hot choc. The heated indoor pool is a real highlight – the pale blue bottom and mountainscape on the wall make you feel like you're swimming in mountain springs.
A stay here means you'll get your room only, with no meals included. Instead, head into Alpe d'Huez to enjoy something tasty at one of the local restaurants. There are lots to pick from, with everything from cheesy fondue to burgers and even sushi on the menu.
