Residence L'Alba Reviews
We were upgraded to the three bedroom apartment which was perfect for six of us. A spacious apartment with a nice layout and balcony plus very good kitchen facilities (oven, hobs, microwave, dishwasher, big fridge freezer, toaster, coffee maker). It's on the edge of the resort (so first off the transfer bus) so a trek from the far side but plenty nearby. It's next door to the vallee blanche piste and only three minutes' walk from a green graded skiway from the main part of the resort, assuming there's enough snow to ski the bottom slopes. Although it's better coming back than going into the main ski area: getting to the main ski area involves an old slow chair lift and a narrow icy green run or a 15-minute walk or the free bus. You're expected to do a little bit of a clean-up before leaving to get your deposit back but it wasn't much. The reception is not staffed on non-changeover days, not that we had any issues.

Residence l'Alba was ok, we expected the transfer rep to at least show us to the door of the apartments, however they didn't even get off the coach. But as we'd seen where it was when the coach drove by we got ourselves checked in. Very useful these reps! Upon check-in, we were asked for the security deposit as expected and were then asked to pay tourists tax. None of this was outlined by Iglu or Neilson. The room was basic but that was what we were expecting considering the price. Some bits clearly need a facelift or a little TLC, but again for the price.... also I know you can't do anything about the other people in the other apartments but I'm glad I didn't take my kids, people were partying, slamming doors, shouting, throwing things off the balcony, etc until the wee hours. Again you kinda expect it from a cheap place I guess, but we are there to hit the first lift every day and act like grownups - not like kids let off the leash when mummy and daddy aren't around A little disappointing really. The last thing we were not told about until the Rep came knocking on our door on the evening was about cleaning the apartment before we left. I was not expecting to have to do a clean of the apartment, a general tidy, yes but not a full blown clean. I do not go on holiday for that! And the hoover was broken anyway. As far as the location goes, we were concerned a little when we booked it, however, the Valley Blanche lift was right outside the front door and was accessible either by the road or by a small climb. The rest of the resort was a short walk away unless you happen to finish the day on the Diable runs then it was time to get the bus or be prepared for a long walk. All in all, we had a great week as it didn't stop snowing all week (wc 26th Jan 19) so it made the smaller than expected resort feel much bigger as the off-piste opened up many more possibilities. There are loads of places to eat and drink, probably the most I've ever seen in a ski resort. Some good value others are a typical ski resort price. L'iglu bar was by far the closest and best value we found - well recommended for beers and the food was AMAZING!! Would I go back to Les 2 Alpes? Probably. Would I stay in L'alba, No.
