Chalet Iona Reviews
We bought this holiday as one of the 6 day deals in January rather than a full week in order to save bit of money, we were a mixed group of abilities and needed something close to the slopes with a wide variety of slopes on offer. The transfer from the airport was too long, in excess of three hours...although we knew about this in advance i'd still try and avoid such a long transfer in future. On the way back there was an accident on the motorway meaning that we were on the coach for around 5hrs! The Chalet itself was well positioned next to a blue run as described on the website. The host (Paz) was welcoming and polite and his cooking was very tasty! We had everything we needed and didn't really need the reps turning up a couple of times throughout the week during dinner (this was a bit annoying). Perhaps if they had arranged something in advance and brought a (free) welcome drink this would have been better. We were exceptionally lucky with the snow, it snowed over 1ft on the first night we got there then was beautiful and sunny. The resort was huge and there was a great variety of long runs to explore, plus there was plenty for every ability. The 60's style resort centre is pretty ugly but there is a lot on offer and once you're away from the centre the views are spectacular. All in all we were very pleased with the holiday and the low low price, though in hindsight I wish we'd paid the extra for the full week! We're planning to either return to La Plagne next year or perhaps Les Arcs.
