Praz de Lys Sommand is a fantastic option for beginners and intermediates, with wide slopes and expansive runs to suit a variety of difficulties. Most of the accommodation, restaurants and shops are located in Praz de Lys, which is linked to Sommand through efficient internal transport.
With on and off-piste runs, extraordinary snow conditions and a cosy, comfortable atmosphere surrounded by some of Europe’s most outstanding scenery, this really is one of the continent’s top resorts.

The snow season here runs from November to April, with excellent snow coverage available across both resorts. Praz de Lys sits at 1,450m, while Sommand’s summit is 1,413m.

There is a total of 60km of alpine runs across both resorts, as well as 45km of cross-country courses. The cross-country tracks are also connected with downhill slopes, creating a great communal feel and some truly diverse runs.
One of the top routes across Praz de Lys is the 3.2km Piste du Lac, which offers some astonishing views across Mont Blanc and Lac de Roy. As well as this, there is a snow park on-site in Sommand with several rails and slopes for those wanting to try something a little different.

As a relatively small resort, Praz de Lys Sammond does not have the busy and hectic atmosphere associated with larger ski areas, making it a fantastic place for a relaxing ski break.
Most of the restaurants and shops are situated in Praz de Lys, where there is a charming village vibe. You won’t find any noisy nightclubs here, but you will discover excellent service, relaxing bars and some amazing French food. The on-site supermarket is very convenient for filling up on snacks, too.
