Chalet Amandier Reviews
We've just returned from a week in Serre Che at the Chalet Amandier. Booked last minute for a great deal, which undoubtedly has influenced our experience, however, this would still have been a great holiday, had we paid more. Chalet Amandier is a little outside the centre, however there are free buses taking you to all the lifts and the Ingham's reps will also go out in the morning and pick you up at the end of the day. Being a little further out also means a nicer location for the chalet, quiet and cosy. This was our first chalet experience and we were impressed. The rooms were adequate in terms of size (we didn't spend much time in there anyway), the 2 lounges provide enough space to relax or socialise with the other guests. The Inghams staff were outstanding, no question to strange, all very super friendly and professional. The food was amazing (thanks Melissa!). Don't come here if you're on a diet! In general, we were absolutely amazed at the friendliness of literally everyone we met, from the rental shop staff to bar staff to mountain guides, doctors, lifties, everyone just made this stay amazing. Going at the end of the season also meant we had the mountain to ourselves, we NEVER had to queue for a lift! The snow conditions were great (we experiences 50cm of powder, groomed, slushy all in 1 week) and we all had fun. Our group had 2 beginner snowboarders, 1 intermediate, 1 expert and we all found great terrain. What a week!

Serre Che is a great resort for those looking to ski and improve their skiing. I was surprised with the amount of easily accessbile off piste in the resort. There is barely any hiking needed to access some really nice lines. Get up there after a good dumping of snow and you will cover so much untracked powder in a day you will love it. For those who stick to the piste there are plenty of runs from greens to blacks to keep you occupied. we had a group of 10 5 good skieers and 5 who had never skied before and we all had a great time. The Apres was a little disappointing, le grotte seemed to be the only place worth going and prices were very good at 3.5 euros a pint. The evening proved to be a little better with le grotte packed the nights we went there... speak to the seasonnairs about when and where to go. We went end of january so the resort was quiet with no waiting for lifts... however we did fill the resort knew this so didnt make the best of efforts to open all the runs despite the good snow we had. However we could still ski down to resort with no problem and cover all for towns. The Chalet was amazing for the price! all rooms were nice and modern, with plenty of space to chill and hang out in the lounges and dinning area. the staff were friendly and cooked us great meals. So to sum up Serre Chevalier really impressed us with the skiing and competes with the best resorts in France, apres not crazy but good enough and the chalet amandier perfect for a group of 10/12.
