When chalet Mathilda was completed in 2005, a new standard of luxury ski holidays was set. Service akin to that of a five star hotel and wellness facilities including an indoor swimming pool and steam room were combined in a brand new, spacious and chic private chalet.
Mathilda commands a place among the very best chalets in Val d'Isère and the Alps by virtue of size, facilities, quality of finish and the style that stands the test of time, combining traditional Alpine style with the clean and crisp influences of today. Chalet Mathilda features not only an indoor swimming pool with jet stream but also a hammam.
On the ground floor is the fabulous wellness area with indoor swimming pool with jet stream and hammam (steam room). The sixth bedroom with en-suite bathroom and walk in dressing room is located on this floor.
On the first floor are four bedrooms all with private bathrooms decorated with fine Italian tiles and crisp white porcelain. The bedrooms and living room feature a wealth of beams and panels of old reclaimed wood, which makes them truly unique.
On the second floor, an authentic stone fireplace complements the spacious open plan living room and dining room and a large sun terrace adds to this already impressive area. The panoramic windows make the most of the dazzling alpine scenery. On the top floor is the fifth en-suite bathroom which is delight. Full of character and romance, it sits alone beneath the eaves and feels like staying in an original alpine chalet.

Accommodation - Chalet Mathilda, Val d'Isere
Chalet Mathilda has six bedrooms all featuring traditional wooden beams and Moroccan style ceilings. Four of the six bedrooms are on the first floor, making it ideal for families as parents and children can have neighbouring rooms. All bedrooms have TVs with UK channels, and the spacious master suite benefits from both bath and separate shower. The lovely fifth room on the third floor under the eaves is also worthy of the "master" title. Each room has an en-suite bath or shower room decorated with a mixture of wood and modern slate tiles. All bedrooms have electronic safes.
Room 1 Twin/Double - A lovely room that can fit a cot and extra bed. It has an en-suite with bath and separate shower. One of four rooms located on the first floor. TV with UK channels.
Room 2 Twin/Double - Located on the first floor alongside rooms 1, 3 and 4, there is space for a cot and extra bed. Equipped with an en-suite bathroom with bath and overhead shower. TV with UK channels.
Room 3 Twin/Double - The smallest room in this beautiful chalet. Located on the first floor, next to rooms 1, 2 and 4, there is an en-suite bath with shower attachment. TV with UK channels.
Room 4 Twin/Double - Located on the first floor next to rooms 1, 2 and 3. This bedroom is large enough to accommodate a cot and extra bed. Equipped with an en-suite bath with shower attachment. TV with UK channels.
Room 5 Twin/Double - Room 5 is the only room located on the mezzanine - on the very top level, above the lounge/dining area. There is space for a cot and extra bed. Equipped with en-suite shower. TV with UK channels.
Room 6 Twin/Double - This is the only room located on the ground floor - near the swimming pool and Hammam. Equipped with en-suite bathroom, separate loo and walk-in dressing room.
Meals - Chalet Mathilda, Val d'Isere
Chalet Mathilda comes with a choice of renowned service: Essential, Flexi or Full. Whether you are looking for a more independent type of chalet holiday, you want the full works or somewhere in between you can be assured it will be the same outstanding, personal service. A shared driver service is available for chalet guests with a fleet of smart vehicles to whisk you to and from the slopes and a concierge is provided for each chalet to ensure a smooth and enjoyable holiday.
Essential Service - Includes daily continental breakfast, a welcome drinks hamper, daily afternoon tea, pre-arrival shopping service and a chalet manager.
Flexi Service - As per the Essential service but with the addition of up to three pre-booked gourmet evening meals (including kids supper) with pre-dinner drinks and canapés from a chef.
Full Service - A full breakfast and afternoon tea is served with pre-dinner drinks and canapés followed by gourmet dinners with paired wine on six nights. Complimentary bar.
Chalet Manager - The chalet manager will be there to meet and greet you and offer a welcoming atmosphere. Whether it is serving you breakfast, making restaurant bookings or arranging lift passes your manager will be on hand to ensure you have a delightful and comfortable stay.
