The Farmhouse, Val d'Isère, France

We were met in Grenoble by helpful VIP ski staff and directed to our coach for the 3 hour transfer to Val D'Isere. Luggage was quickly delivered to the chalet shortly after our arrival and we didn't have to carry a thing. The chalet is conveniently located 2 minutes from the main road and a few minutes walk across the nursery slopes to the main lifts up the mountain. The chalet is all en-suite with some rooms having a bath and others a shower. Avoid rooms 1 and 2 if you're a light sleeper as they're behind the kitchen. They also have just a small window rather than a balcony. Don't expect glorious mountain views from anywhere in the chalet. Fabulous food all freshly prepared by the efficient staff including breakfast, tea, 3 course meal and cheeseboard with a choice of wine. The rooms are cleaned everyday with a mid week towel change. Dvd player, docking station, house phone for calls to concierge, fireplace, boot warmers, ski storage all included. Large ski area with plenty of off-piste but not the best for beginner skiers/boarders as some of the runs are underrated and lots of flats for the boarder. Overall a well appointed chalet with everything we needed but not the most luxurious for ones in this price range. Great chalet hosts and food was the best I've had in a chalet in quite a few years.
