Hotel I Larici, Bardonecchia - 11/02/2019

Stayed here first week Feb 2019, really nice hotel with really helpful, friendly staff. They do not however speak English, and due to of course my arrogance I do not speak Italian. We did get by with hand gestures and pointing. Breakfast is a selection of buffet goods, including some excellent cakes and Pastries. The Bar has a wide selection of drinks and crisps, but no hot food, so out for dinner every evening which was a struggle - if you go on Saturday all restaurants are rammed and booked so try to book in the day if you have time. We had a room in the main part of the hotel which was fine, but the walls are paper thin so can here next door and people in the bathroom but not too bad. The Annex rooms are nice and spacious with separate room with table chairs, so book one of them if available - but the others in our party could not check in until 2pm. This is also an unmanned resort so there is no rep on site, or even in the town so you are left completely on your own. That said we managed to get a half day lift pass on the Saturday and get an extra 3 hours in the afternoon skiing so if we can manage it with our broken Italian then anyone can. Get the lift pass from by the station, and the bus from outside the police station. All go to Campo Smith which is the main area. Busy on the Saturday and the Sunday due to locals, quiet in the week. Would go back for 3 days, probably would not do another week due to fairly limiting ski area. If you are hiring ski kit, the shops are busy on Sunday morning.

Skiing in Bardonecchia - 31/03/2015

Skiing for the first time after 13 years were great. From making the booking via Iglu (Seb) to the rep from Neilson (Matt) it was a wonderful positive experience. I got what I paid for and I was happy. Personally next time I will select a hotel which is closer to the meeting point for ski school since the chosen hotel was quite far to walk although there was a free bus service which departed every 20 minutes from close to the hotel. Overall a wonderful trip!
