Hotel Orchidea, Passo Tonale, Italy

Just had a really great week at the Orchidia, what wonderful people. From the greeting at the desk to check out nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were comfortable and warm, never hot but who wants to be too hot at night. The wellness area was small but spotless and the staff really friendly The food which plenty of people complain about was delicious. Don't these people realize that Passo Tonale is in Italy and they will be served Italian food? With a plentiful salad bar to start and extra rolls if you ask, followed by , on my plate , a wide choice of pasta. You must try the seafood linguini. What is more pasta IS carbohydrate, for the thinking challenged who say there was none. By the time main course comes you wonder where to put dessert. The staff were really nice , friendly is not a good enough word. Cleaning was a bit OTT but a clean hotel is always better than an iffy one. Over all my first time in The Orchidia but hopefully not the last. Bu the way IGLU your web site states a 2 1/2 hour transfer. The bus driver says it takes FOUR, I wont usually book a holiday beyond 2 hour transfers next time I 'll look for flights to Italy not Austria
