Continental Hotel, Selva Val Gardena, Italy

After a mixed week of weather Saturday was forecast to have heavy snow. Leaving at 2.40am we got stuck on side roads after been advised that the motorway was blocked . 30minutes later we were also in a massive traffic jam. We were finally freed by the fire brigade . Having missed our flights at 08.00 at Innsbruck they diverted us to Verona. Inghams BRILLIANTLY had organised two planes one to Manchester the other to Stansead for the two coach loads. Take off was for 20.15. We finally arrived in York at 02.00, very tired but very pleased with the way we had been cared for. The reason for the delay was an avalanche that had blocked the road.
