You can’t miss the Shin Furano Prince – reaching up to 12 floors high with showstopper views and fab facilities, it’s one of the resort’s biggest and best-known hotels. Location-wise it comes out on top too. It sits right on the piste, so just step outside, click in and you’re good to go. You’ve got two lifts within sliding distance, choose the shorter Prince Romance chairlift for a warm-up or hop on the Downhill Swift No. 1 chairlift to head on up to the heights.
When you’re back, there’s plenty to fill the rest of your day. Unwind the Japanese way with a long soak in the onsen, or sip a tipple in the top-floor bar looking out over the snowy forest below. And for souvenirs, Ningle Terrace is the star of the show. Just across from the hotel, nestled between the trees, you’ll see a line of wooden cabins selling artisanal crafts, looking like something from a picture book.
As for food, breakfast is part of your stay here, and you can put together your perfect plate from a buffet of local and international staples.
