Kiroro ski resort boasts some of the best snow in Hokkaido with an average annual snow fall of over 17 metres. This modern resort was only built in 2001 and is made up of 2 large resort style hotels with shops, restaurants and leisure facilities rather than a traditional village set-up. You’ll find the slopes in Kiroro much quieter than nearby Niseko and Rusutsu making it the perfect choice for plenty of fresh lines. The resort is very family orientated with many kids’ activities to experience off the slopes.

Kiroro ski resort
Kiroro is located in the north islands of Japan, 2 hours from Sapporo New Chitose Airport and 30 minutes from historic Otaru port town. Skiers and snowboarders wishing to travel to Kiroro, and Niseko or Rusutsu will need to take a long haul flight from London to Tokyo and then a domestic flight from Tokyo to Sapporo. The young resort boasts modern facilities and infrastructure with a few shops, several restaurants, ski hire shop, ski school and a nursery.
Skiing in Kiroro
The mid-sized resort offers 21 pistes of varying levels including 7 beginner runs, 6 intermediate and 8 advanced runs spread over 2 mountain peaks. Skiers and snowboarders new to off-piste and riding in powder will enjoy the Powder Zone while experienced riders will discover the best pow through the trees. Skiing outside of the boundaries isn’t strictly allowed in Kiroro.

The resort is smaller and quieter compared to most European resorts but makes up in non-ski activities.
