NOREFJELL, NORWAY
Skiing in Norefjell
Norefjell is the highest vertical ski resort in Norway, offering skiers and boarders 25km of largely blue and green piste. A two hour transfer from Oslo, the resort is one of Norway's most easily accessible, making it a great option for families and those looking for a short break.
With its south east facing slopes, Norefjell is well positioned for you to make the most out of the daylight hours and with beautiful views over Lake Krøderen and peaceful tree-lined runs to enjoy, you'll be wanting to stay on the slopes for as long as possible!
Unlike other resorts which have a main resort centre, Norefjell consists of clusters of accommodation, bars and eateries. Each cluster has its own learner slope, so you're never too far away from your ski lesson.
While Norefjell is largely dominated by long blues and sweeping greens, there's some good intermediate and advanced ground, too. Through the trees down towards the lake, there are a number of black and red runs, while those who prefer the gentler nature of blues and greens can make their way to the very top of the resort and ski right down to the lake edge on lovely beginner-friendly terrain.
Norefjell is one of Norway's best ski resorts for families. There's a great ski school at Norefjell and three learner slopes situated super-close to each of the resorts clusters, making it really easily for parents to take their kids to ski school in the morning. And with 25km of piste and a variety of runs to explore, those of a more advanced ability are entertained, too.

Apres ski in Norefjell
Norway isn't a hotspot for apres, but there is a party scene to be found if you know where to look.
Norefjell has one renowned apres bar. In addition to being a great place to stop off for a pizza, Olympique, situated on the blue run 15, has a DJ set in the afternoons - perfect if you're looking for somewhere to have a post-ski drink and boogie.
If you're staying over at Norefjell Resort and Spa, you'll find the hotel lobby a great place to unwind with a few drinks (or a hot chocolate) after an adrenaline-fuelled day on the slopes.
For the younger ones, the resort mascot, Nore Rein the reindeer, organises daily apres ski for children, adding to the family-friendly nature of this resort.
