Mount Hood ski resort
Mt Hood has a strong reputation for its diverse selection of runs, which are suited to everyone ranging from beginners to experts. Visitors can look forward to a true mountain experience and enough challenges to improve their skills and keep them occupied for days.
It is split into two areas, the Mt Hood Meadows terrain and the Heather Canyon, where steep routes provide visual beauty as well as a sporting challenge.

The season here runs from November to April and, as the resort’s altitude goes up to 7,300 feet, snow coverage is excellent.
Skiing in Mount Hood
While there are runs for all abilities here, intermediates will have the most to enjoy. A large proportion of the 2,150 acres of terrain in Hood Meadows is ideal for them and there are some unbelievable panoramic views to the east and south of the mountain.
In Heather Canyon, there is an extra 1,700ft for skiers to explore, adding up to nearly 4,500ft of vertical land to use. Experts will be best suited at the Private Reserve and S&R Cliffs, where there are some exhilarating trails to take on.
On the other hand, visitors looking to take advantage of open-bowl skiing will be pleased with the Elk and Yoda areas, where there is up to 2,150 acres of terrain.

Across Mt Hood, there are nine restaurants to choose from, ranging from sophisticated dining at Alpenstube to delicious fast food at Schuss.
Shoppers will find plenty of excellent sports equipment to search through, too, including Outer Limits Sports and Altitude. These stores sell everything from ski gear to lifestyle brands at competitive prices.
