Chemmy Alcott was satisfied with her display in the super G at
Val D'Isere but knows that there is still plenty of room for improvement.
Britain's number one female skier began her World Cup schedule in France with a superb ninth-place finish in the super combined event.
However, she failed to maintain this level of performance in the super G and eventually had to settle for 16th spot behind Swiss winner Fraenzi Aufdenblatten.
Alcott stated in the pre-season that she was hopeful of gaining a medal in the Winter Olympics in February and this is still possible if she completes a perfect run.
British Alpine ski head coach Mark Tilston said: "Chemmy skied a bit too round at the top and gave the course a bit too much respect but she skied the bottom well.
"She is happy with the result but a little disappointed too as she knows if she had lost half of what she did lose at the top section it would have had a very different result."
The 27-year-old's best position in the overall standings is ninth spot in the super combined rankings, while she lies 25th when points from all events are considered.
