Swedish skier Jens Byggmark had a weekend to remember after securing his first two World Cup wins within 24 hours of each other.
Those enjoying a
Kitzbuhel ski holiday will have witnessed the 21-year-old do the slalom double, the first time he had won a World Cup event.
He finished with a combined time of one minute 44.20 seconds, edging just 0.03 seconds ahead of the runner-up and local, Mario Matt.
The Italian, Manfred Moelgg, finished third by the tiny margin of 0.02 seconds.
Byggmark, who is participating in his first full season of World Cup competition, was understandably jubilant.
"This victory is even more crazy and amazing than yesterday's," he commented. "I received so many phone calls yesterday evening I was really moved.
"I just wanted to get a good result but I never expected to win again."
Anyone on a
Kitzbuhel ski holiday who was hoping to cheer American Bode Miller on to victory would have been disappointed though.
The 2005 overall champion suffered more slalom frustration as he failed to finish once again.
