Celebrate the season's end in Chamonix

Celebrate the season's end in Chamonix The end of the season at the ski resort of Val Thorens will be celebrated with the traditional Freeride Day party.

In addition to a Russian band and a fance dress competition, visitors will be able to enjoy a water slide, whereby participants will be invited to take to the skis or snowboards and ride down the slopes onto the snow, reports Chamonet.com.

For those who have built up an appetite during the day, there will be a hog roast dinner at the Hotel Vert in the evening, along with live music performances and sets from local DJs.

The hotel will be providing a shuttle service to take people to the festivities on a half hourly basis.

In addition to its own snowpark, Chamonix has 762km of piste, 32 draglifts and 12 gondolas and cable cars.

Skiers and snowboarders can choose from 51 beginner runs, 190 intermediate runs and 21 advanced runs.
