Les Gets a Lift Upgrade

Les Gets a Lift Upgrade

The Portes du Soleil's favourite family resort, Les Gets, has announced a €4.5 million investment for the Chavannes gondola along with a new six-man chairlift in the Chamossiere ski area.

The Chavannes gondola is being upgraded from four to six-man bubbles and will retain its historic red paint. The increased capacity, from 900 to 1600 per hour, should allow for speedier travel and shorter queues and access to the lifts has been made much easier now it is all on one level.

The new chairlift in Chamossiere will replace the Blanchots drag and the old three-man Chamossiere chairlift, offering much improved access to the highly rated black and red runs form the top.

As well as the new lifts the Boule de Gomme drag lift, which was the first automatic release drag in France built in 1936, will be slightly repositioned. This is to ensure easier access from the ESF to the cable car. The upper slopes on the Carry will also be remodeled to level out and widen the existing piste.

The last of the new dev elopements is the new boarder-cross over on Mont-Chéry, which has been dedicated to local Olympic silver medallist Déborah Anthonioz. The boarder-cross has been constructed under her advise and throughout the season there will be session staged where you can ride the course in her presence.
