Obama Girls Go Skiing

Obama Girls Go Skiing

America's First Lady Michelle Obama and her two daughters are reportedly skiing in the resorts of Vail and Beaver Creek, though President Obama has avoided the chilly reception.

There has been some harsh criticism in the US, due to the economic situation, though it is believed the Obama's are fronting the bills themselves, apart from the use or Air Force Two and the 15 vehicle motorcade that taxied them to resort.

The family and their friends are staying in the Sebastian Hotel on Vail, with this being the girls' second ski trip, following on from a holiday to Liberty Mountain Resort near Washington. Though neither the hotel or resort have commented on their high profile guests, but Michelle Obama's spokeswomen, Katie McCormick-Lelyveld, said: "The First Lady and the Obama daughters are on a private family trip to Colorado. The First Lady and several close family friends are chaperoning their children on a ski trip. Personal expenses are being paid for by the Obamas."

With it being Presidents day in the United States and having seen Colorado receive huge amounts of snow over the last few weeks, can you blame them? Over the last week the resort enjoyed over 20cm of snow with a similar amount expected this week. Given half the chance I'm sure most of us would be out there enjoying the great conditions if we could.
