According to the National Ski Areas Association, North America ski holidays
defied analysts' predictions with a total of 55.1 million enjoying the snow in the high peaks.

could be interested to know that the resorts' popularity is as high as ever among skiers, with the Rocky Mountain region seeing a 0.6 per cent increase in tourism in 2006-07.
