Ski fans 'are hitting slopes earlier'

Ski fans 'are hitting slopes earlier'
Snow lovers are setting out in search of the best pistes earlier in the year than usual, it has been reported.

Meet and greet parking service Meteor claims that "superb" conditions have encouraged skiers to head abroad earlier than in past years this ski season, TravelMole reports.

Sales and marketing director Steve Waller claimed that early snowfall is one reason for the increased interest in early European ski holidays.

"The weather conditions have led to an improvement in early season bookings as many ski enthusiasts have seen the snow and decided to hit the slopes sooner and book before Christmas to make the most of the superb conditions," Mr Waller added.

Meanwhile, several European ski resorts have opened as far ahead of schedule as two days or two weeks.

Snow-forecast.com reports that some ski resorts in France are expected to receive up to a metre of snow this weekend.
