Snow on slopes around the world

Reuters recently reported that a student in China attempted to ski 200 kilometres after heavy snowfalls blocked the roads.
A Changjiang Daily report on sina.com.cn commented: "Who knew that the highways would have been closed by snow and that there would be no buses ... he had a fantastic idea."
The Ski Club of Great Britain reports that the Israel and Jordan have seen flurries while predictions for more snow in the Alps, the Rockies and the Pyrenees have been given for this coming weekend.
Additionally, the Globe and Mail has claimed that "massive" snowfall in Canada means "big business" for ski resorts in the country.
