The Cold November Snow

The Cold November Snow

October ended up being a bumper month for early season snow. In years gone by Mother Nature's early season good work has been undone by a spot of Autumn rain, but the signs for this November are more white stuff.

Continuing on from last month's theme, Whistler looks to be hogging this week's powder with another 34cm expected during the next six days. Kicking Horse and Jasper, with 20cm & 10cm respectively, are also flying the white flag for Canada.

Europe is set for another week of good news due to good snow falling in Italy, France and Norway, with the Norwegian resort of Voss taking the lead with 53cm. Italian resorts are expecting up to 20cm with Arabba, Canazei (Val di Fassa) & Corvara all enjoying a top up. France's Espace Killy resorts of Val d'Isere and Tignes are looking at another 12cm over the next few days with temperatures around -9°c.

With less than six weeks until the first package holidays of the season depart (12th December) and the high altitude resorts of Val d'Isere and Val Thorens expecting to be fully open toward the end of the month it really is time to get excited.
