16/01/2013 — The Ski Resort Where You Don't Need Cash or a Credit Card
Skiers are increasingly looking to book holidays where 'extras' like ski hire and lift passes are included in the package price. That way people, especially those on a tight budget, avoid a cash crisis if they face having to spend more than expected in the resort.
Many operators offer to book ski hire and lessons for their clients but the main benefit is this avoids anxieties over currency exchange rates and currently the only other significant offer is a free lift pass for certain weeks in February and March.
Iglu, however, is reporting increased interest in an Italian ski resort where the basic price doesn't just include the standard flights and accommodation but also features free lessons and lift pass AND free food and drink.
In fact, skiers can arrive in little known Pragelato without cash or a credit card and not miss out. All meals, including lunch in one of three piste-side restaurants, are included. So, too, are all drinks excluding champagne.
Iglu, the UKs leading independent ski agent, offers all-in weeks in Pragelato from £1601. Higher, of course, than other packages but when you add the cost of the extras, it offers great value-for-money.
‘Pragelato has been a big hit this season, as people like the fact they don’t need to pay for anything when they get to the resort', said Iglu's Head of Ski Product, James Box. 'It's also great for families who benefit from extras like children’s clubs for ages four right up to 17’.
Pragelato sits at 1534 metres with a cable car linking directly to the 400 kilometres of the Milky Way ski area. Transfers from Turin are only 75 minutes.
